Privacy Policy

Protecting your privacy and personal data is important to us. We therefore only use your personal data within the scope of applicable law, in particular the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) and national data protection law.

With this privacy policy we inform you — whether you create an account, use our services, subscribe to a plan, use our apps or visit our website — about the nature, scope and purposes of the collection, use and processing of your personal data by Manifesto-Platform.

2. Scope of data protection

This privacy policy covers personal data as defined by the GDPR — information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (e.g. name, identification number, online identifier). We process such data only where permitted by law and as described below.

3. Texts, content and improvements (free features)

Only submit content on our platform you are comfortable sharing. Content you upload to use the service may be processed temporarily to provide the service and — where applicable to the free offering — to train and improve our systems. If you provide corrections or edits, those may also be used to improve our platform

4. Account creation and subscriptions

4.1 Creating an account

When you create an account on manifesto-platform.com, we collect:

  • Email address
  • Password (stored securely)
  • IP address

Email and password are processed to perform the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). IP addresses may be processed for security and fraud prevention (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

You can delete your account in your account settings or by emailing contact@manifesto-platform.com.

4.2 Signing up for paid subscriptions

If you purchase a paid subscription we collect additional data necessary to conclude and perform the contract:

  • First and last name
    – Company name (where applicable)
  • Billing and postal address
  • Payment details (processed via our payment provider)
  • Tax or VAT numbers where required
  • Subscription choice and billing history

Payment data is processed for billing and contract fulfilment (Art.6(1)(b) GDPR). We may retain some billing data for statutory retention periods.

4.3 Payment processors and fraud prevention

We use an authorized payment provider (e.g., Moneybird or similar). Payment provider details will be shared only as necessary to complete the transaction. We may also use fraud prevention services which will process transactional and device data as part of risk analysis. We have contracts in place with these providers and will provide their names in your DPA or on request.

4.4 Usage data

Where applicable we store usage records necessary for billing and to offer account features (e.g., number of API calls, characters processed, documents translated). This processing is necessary to perform our contract and for legitimate interests in managing the service (Art.6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).

5. Document and file processing

You may submit documents in common file formats (e.g., .xls, xlsx, .docx, .pdf, .pptx) for processing. We may temporarily store metadata about the process (status, file type, error reports, character counts) for operational purposes.

6. Data automatically collected when visiting the website

When you access our website, your device transmits certain data for technical reasons; we record:

  • Date and time of access
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system
  • Referrer URL
  • Volume of data transferred
  • Requested domain and page
  • IP address (abbreviated/anonymized or full depending on service tier)
  • Error diagnostics


We use this data for system security, error analysis, to ensure site stability and — where necessary — to comply with legal obligations (Art.6(1)(f) GDPR). IP storage duration may vary depending on whether you use a free service or a paid subscription.

We may use CDN and security providers (e.g., Cloudflare or similar) to protect the website; these providers may receive metadata (such as IP address) in encrypted form for bot analysis and protective measures. We have contracts with our infrastructure providers and require them to process data only according to our instructions.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies, web storage and similar technologies to provide features and improve the user experience. If you do not wish cookies to be used, you can adjust your browser settings — note that disabling some cookies may impair site functionality. A simple cookie preference interface should be available on the site to manage consent.

8. Analysis of user behaviour

We may analyse pseudonymised usage data to understand how our services are used and to improve features. Analysis is performed on our servers and used to derive product improvements; such data is not used to identify individuals unless necessary and lawful.

9. Contacting customer support (including chatbots)

We provide support via contact forms, email, or chat. Data you provide when contacting support (name, email, message contents) will be processed to handle the inquiry. Support systems such as ticketing platforms may be used and governed by contracts ensuring processor compliance. We may record and transcribe support calls for quality, training and documentation where applicable and lawful; recordings are potentially stored.

10. Newsletters and marketing

If you sign up to product or marketing newsletters we will process your email address to deliver those emails. Product emails relating to account or service information may be sent on the basis of our contractual relationship or legitimate interest; marketing emails require your consent and you may unsubscribe at any time via the link in the email or by emailing contact@manifesto-platform.com. For sending newsletters we may use third-party email providers (e.g., HubSpot, Mailchimp or similar).

11. User research and surveys

Participation in surveys is voluntary. If you participate we may link survey responses with usage metadata to better understand your feedback — only with your consent where required. We may store survey data for product development purposes; retention periods will be indicated at point of collection.

12. Social media pages

We operate social media accounts (e.g., LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook). Interactions on those platforms are subject to the social networks’ privacy policies; we may receive aggregated insight data about page interactions. Where we use pixels or tracking tags (e.g., LinkedIn Insight Tag).

13. Community platform (if applicable)

If we operate a community platform, data you post in public profile fields (e.g., name, profile content) will be visible according to your privacy settings. The platform may be provided by a third-party service (we will name the provider in the DPA or at the bottom of this policy) and data storage location and processing will be stated. You may delete your community account by contacting contact@manifesto-platform.com or via account settings; note deletion of community content may not delete content replicated in backups or required to be retained for legal reasons.

14. Webinars and events

If we host platform demonstrations, webinars or events we may use platforms such as Zoom to host registrants and participants. Registration data (name, email, company) is processed to organise attendance; recordings may be made and published only after personal data is anonymised where necessary. Processing is contract-based or by consent depending on the activity.

15. Job applications

If you apply for a role, your application details (CV, cover letter, contact data) will be processed for recruitment purposes. We may use recruitment platforms/processors and will disclose them at the point of collection.

16. Data security

We use reasonable technical and organisational security measures appropriate to the risk to protect your personal data. The precise level of protection will depend on current best practice and the nature of the data processed.

17. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have rights including:

  • Right of access to your personal data.
  • Right to rectification of inaccurate data.
  • Right to erasure (right to be forgotten) where legal grounds permit.
  • Right to restriction of processing.
  • Right to data portability where applicable.
  • Right to object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Right to withdraw consent at any time (consent withdrawal does not affect prior lawful processing).
  • Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

18. International transfers and processors

We use service providers located both inside and outside the European Economic Area. Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA we will ensure appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses, adequacy decisions, or other lawful mechanisms) are in place. Processors we typically use include: payment provider(s), email delivery provider, analytics and hosting/CDN providers, and CRM/ticketing systems.

19. Retention periods

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including to meet contractual obligations, billing, fraud prevention, and legal retention obligations. Specific retention periods (e.g., accounting records, support tickets, recordings) will be retained in line with statutory or business requirements and deleted afterwards.

20. Children

Our services are not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child under 18 has provided us personal data, please contact contact@manifesto-platform.com.

21. Changes to this policy

We may amend this Privacy Policy. The current version will be available Here. We will indicate the date of last update at the bottom of this policy.
